About Ramblin Dan Stevens
As a full time professional musician since 1991, Ramblin Dan Stevens continues to tour incessantly along the East Coast, U.S. Virgin Islands, U.K., Germany and Canada. He has appeared with such artists as Johnny Winter, James Cotton, Charlie Musselwhite, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Charlie Daniels, Livingston Taylor, Ronnie Earl, and others. An irrepressible guitar collector, Dan surrounds himself with vintage and custom instruments acquired in his many travels. Usually packing three guitars, any given performance may find him choosing to play a Gibson J-200, 1950’s Sears Silvertone, a 1931 National Steel, a retro lime green Resophonic, and more.
Ramblin Dan Stevens from Old Lyme CT is a touring finger style acoustic blues and slide player. He plays an eclectic mix of acoustic finger style blues, early jazz, popular covers and originals. His sound can be compared to Eric Clapton Unplugged, early Bonnie Raitt, Credence, Taj Mahal, Leon Redbone, Keb Mo, early Rolling Stones, etc. His show is versatile and he has played almost every type of room from nice background music to concerts to houserockin' clubs. He has played all over the Eastern US, Europe, Canada and the Virgin Islands for many years and was a finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN. Stevens was also was recently inducted into the CT Blues Hall of Fame and was a student of the legendary folk/blues icon Dave Van Ronk in NYC.
About Ben Holst
Ben Holst has been a career musician, producer, engineer and composer in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. He came up musically in Athens, GA, co-founded Tunewelders – an award winning music and audio production company, and later re-opened the historic Southern Tracks Recording Studio in Atlanta. Recent accolades include: composer on the animated Netflix series The Liberator; co-producer on Grammy-nominated India Arie’s SongVersation: Medicine; writer and performer on the theme song for season 9 of Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs; Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter Board of Governors; recording engineer on the filmed concert special Indigo Girls Look Long: Together.
Ben’s performance credits include guitar and upright bass for renowned violinist Bobby Yang, guitarist for Michelle Malone, pedal steel for Avery Sunshine and current guitarist, pedal steel, and mandolinist for Atlanta band Quiet Hounds.
